Wings of Valor Lodge is its own space. When guests arrive and volunteers show up, the magic begins as the space transforms. That is, the space becomes special as old friends meet again after 10, 20, or even more years have passed since they served alongside each other. In many cases, the only connection is that they served, sometimes in different theaters of war, sometimes generations separate them. Our veterans come together in a safe space, Wings of Valor Lodge, to share and support one another. We may compare it to a house that becomes a home when the family is there.
We rely on our friends, our veterans, and deep thinkers to help describe Wings of Valor Lodge in testimonials and feedback we receive after their visits. Sometimes, it is poetry:

An Evening of Purpose: Salute to Our Heroes Gala

The Salute to Our Heroes Gala is March 26, and excitement is building as our community prepares for an unforgettable evening of gratitude, storytelling, and mission.

With 50 tables available and 45 already sold, the room is nearly full. This special night brings together the veterans we serve, the donors who make our mission possible, and the volunteers who dedicate their time and talents to creating a world-class experience at the lodge.

We are honored to welcome Brigadier General Mike Oster as our featured speaker. His perspective and leadership will help remind us why our mission matters and why the work happening at Wings of Valor Lodge continues to make such a meaningful difference in the lives of those who have served our country.

Guests will also learn about the launch of our Recurring Monthly Donor Campaign, a new opportunity for supporters to sustain the mission year-round. Monthly giving helps ensure that every veteran who comes through our doors receives the same high-quality experience made possible by our generous community.

The evening will feature both a silent and live auction, offering unique experiences and handcrafted items generously donated by supporters of the lodge. Among the highlights will be a special painting by artist Mark Anderson, along with other one-of-a-kind items and memorable experiences.

Most importantly, the Gala is our opportunity to pause and say thank you. Thank you to the veterans who inspire our mission, the donors whose generosity fuels it, and the volunteers who are truly the backbone of Wings of Valor Lodge. During the program we will also proudly recognize our Volunteer of the Year, honoring someone whose service reflects the heart and spirit of our organization.

This evening is more than a fundraiser—it is a celebration of community and purpose. Because of you, veterans who arrive expecting a pheasant hunt often leave with something far greater: connection, healing, and renewed purpose.

National Veteran Hunt February 26-March 1, 2026

I’m a Navy Purple Heart awarded veteran who spent the weekend with 7 other veterans at Wings of Valor Lodge . The hospitality from all the volunteers was incredible. They made sure we were taken care of. My favorite part was to bond with the other Air Force and Army veterans. All of us serving this great nation at different periods.
