Since 1980, Carstensen Contracting, Inc. (CCI) has grown from a small construction company with just a few employees into an industry leader specializing in large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the North and South-Central United States. Headquartered in Dell Rapids, South Dakota, with an additional office in Ross, North Dakota, CCI now employs more than 150 team members who share a commitment to excellence, integrity, and community. Over the years, CCI has built an impressive portfolio of capabilities, including utility installation, trenchless HDD and auger boring, pipe bursting, hydro-excavating, compression-fit HDPE slip-lining, concrete structures, surfacing, and site restoration. Each year, their crews install 150–200 miles of water and wastewater piping, serving as a cornerstone in critical infrastructure development. But for CCI, success isn’t only measured in miles of pipe laid—it’s about the lasting relationships they build with their customers, teammates, and engineers. When asked what inspired their partnership with Wings of Valor Lodge, CCI shared a heartfelt reflection: “The lodge have a special energy. Bruce and his team of volunteers have something very special working for them that is unexplainable—one must experience it for themselves, as so many of the past veterans have stated in their letters and calls.
