Mission Moment: Stories that Matter

We are continually looking for meaningful ways to enhance the world-class experience we provide for our guests. This spring, we added several viewing areas along our walking trails, complete with benches designed to invite moments of rest, reflection, and renewal.

For many of the veterans we serve, opportunities to experience true peace and quiet are rare. Surrounded by the beauty of nature, these new spaces offer a place to slow down, take a seat, and simply be present. Whether watching wildlife, listening to the wind move through the prairie grass, or enjoying a quiet conversation with a fellow veteran, these moments often become some of the most meaningful parts of their stay.

Our hope is that these peaceful overlooks provide not only a beautiful view, but also a chance for our guests to experience the refreshment, healing, and calm that nature so generously offers.

Spring Refresh: Preparing Wings for Another Season of Service

Each spring, dedicated volunteers come together to help prepare Wings for another season of serving veterans. This year, we were honored to welcome volunteers from five American Legion posts, Sanford Health's Blue Crew, and the Parker High School Shooting Club.

The smiles say it all. Our volunteers know that every flower planted, trail maintained, and project completed helps create life-changing experiences for the veterans who visit the lodge.

It takes many hands—and sometimes a little horsepower—to keep Wings of Valor Lodge looking its best. Every task completed helps create a welcoming environment where veterans can relax, reconnect, and recharge.

Community partnerships help make our mission possible. We were honored to host the ladies from Living Word Free Lutheran Church as they delivered handcrafted quilts for our veterans and experienced firsthand the place where healing, fellowship, and outdoor traditions come together.
